LAND ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

At TCU Place, we acknowledge that we are gathered on First Nations Treaty 6 territory and the traditional homeland of the Metis Nation. For generations, Indigenous people were deliberately excluded from participating in our community and economy. We acknowledge and respect the histories, languages, and diverse cultures that continue to influence our vibrant community. We are grateful for the traditional knowledge keepers and Elders who are still with us today, and those who have gone before us. With our team, we recognize this history and commit to advancing Indigenous reconciliation in our city and beyond.

“Re-imagining events during a pandemic was challenging, but once we decided to hold one of the first carefully-designed, safe in-person events at TCU Place, we knew it was going to be a success! From start to finish the care, expertise and detail that TCU provided in working with me to plan our Annual SABEX Awards was outstanding and allowed us to execute our event with ease! The TCU team is beyond amazing, I would recommend them and this great facility to anyone looking to host all types of events! I promise you will not be disappointed!”

Treena Skaalid, Events Coordinator
Greater Saskatoon Chamber of Commerce

“We hosted an event at TCU Place on October 24, 2020 as well as numerous other events over the years. Hosting an event during a pandemic isn’t easy, but working with the staff at TCU Place made it very easy. They followed all policies and protocols, to ensure our guests as well as their staff were safe, but also made our event run smoothly. The food, as always was amazing (the horseradish is worth booking an event alone). Drinks and dessert we also fabulous. Thank you TCU Place for another successful event.”

“For thirty years the Silver Spoon Dinner has had the reputation as being the most elegant, popular and enjoyable women’s fundraising event in Saskatoon. Much of the credit is due to the awesome venue where we hold our gala – TCU Place. Their banquet room is attractive and classy, the A/V is of the highest quality and the food is always delicious and beautifully presented. Some years we have had over 1000 women at the Silver Spoon Dinner and TCU Place has stepped up to accommodate such a huge crowd in their usual outstanding style. The facilities are first class, as expected, but what makes them the very best venue for us are the exceptional staff there. Their people go out of their way to help us to make our event fabulous. They look after the tiniest of details for us, they welcome our dozens of volunteers and they stay friendly, approachable, gracious, professional and very accommodating throughout the whole process. For many years, Rhonda Chelack has been delightful to work with as were the catering and set-up crews.

Silver Spoon is a gigantic undertaking for a small group of volunteers but the staff at TCU Place have helped us keep the stress-level low by ensuring that our charity Dinner is always a fantastic success!”

“Thank you very much for all your help in organizing the FSIN Fall Election and Legislative Assembly in October 2015. It was fantastic and everyone was impressed with the new ideas that were put forward and implemented. Also, your staff were extremely helpful when it was needed. The lunches that were ordered were very tasty. What a great time! Thanks Again! Always love working with your team!”

At TCU Place, we've seen firsthand how events from diverse cultural festivals to spirited sports gatherings bring people together, creating shared experiences and memories. These gatherings act as a platform for interaction, where walls come down, and people connect on a human level, strengthening the fabric of our community. Drawing from our experience, organizing events like Free Family Movie Day not only provides entertainment but also knits tighter community bonds through shared laughter and joy.

How Do Events Contribute to Embracing Diversity in Saskatoon?

Events have a unique power to celebrate and educate about diversity, promoting inclusivity and respect within the community. Saskatoon's cultural festivals and events, such as Indigenous gatherings and LGBTQ+ pride events, provide a vibrant showcase of the rich mosaic that makes up our city. At TCU Place, we pride ourselves on being a part of this celebration, offering a welcoming venue for events that span cultures and communities. Through these events, we not only enjoy the richness of diverse traditions and perspectives but also foster a culture of understanding and acceptance, making Saskatoon a more inclusive place for everyone.

How Can Events Showcase Innovation in Saskatoon?

In a city known for its entrepreneurial spirit, events can be a catalyst for innovation and growth. By hosting various trade shows, business conferences, and educational workshops, we at TCU Place have provided a stage for the latest innovations and ideas to be shared and developed. These events are not just about showcasing new products or services; they are about creating opportunities for networking, collaboration, and inspiration. Participants leave with new insights and connections that can propel their projects or businesses forward. It's thrilling to see how a well-curated event can spark creativity and lead to groundbreaking initiatives that drive our city's economic and intellectual development.

Why Is Choosing the Right Venue Important for Hosting Successful Events?

The choice of venue can make or break an event. It's about more than just the physical space - it's about the atmosphere, the service, and the support the venue provides. At TCU Place, we understand this deeply. Our venue is designed to be as versatile and accommodating as possible, with a range of spaces that can be configured to meet the unique needs of each event, from intimate gatherings to large-scale conferences. Our dedicated team ensures every detail is handled with care, making events seamless and stress-free for organizers. Moreover, the venue's vibe - its aesthetics, acoustics, and amenities - significantly impacts attendees' overall experience, contributing to the event's success.

In What Ways Do You See TCU Place Contributing to the Saskatoon Community Beyond Hosting Events?

While TCU Place is primarily known as a venue for various events, our commitment to the Saskatoon community extends beyond our walls. We actively engage with the community by organizing events like the Dueling Pianos evening and the Noon Festival of Carols, which are open to the public and often free of charge. These initiatives are our way of giving back, creating spaces where people can come together and enjoy moments of joy and entertainment. We believe that by facilitating these experiences, we contribute to the community's vibrancy and well-being, reinforcing our role not just as a venue, but as a pivotal member of the Saskatoon community.

Looking Ahead, How Do You Envision the Evolution of Events at TCU Place?

As we look towards the future, we anticipate a dynamic evolution in the way events are conceived and executed. This evolution reflects the changing needs and expectations of our community and guests. We're exploring innovative technologies and approaches to make events more interactive, engaging, and accessible to a broader audience. Our goal remains to not just keep pace with these changes but to lead by example, continuously improving and innovating to ensure that TCU Place remains at the forefront of Saskatoon's event scene, offering memorable and meaningful experiences for all who walk through our doors.
