Tammy Sweeney – CEO , TCU Place

April 15, 2026

Every once in a while, you get a moment to pause and reflect. Not just on how busy things are, but why that matters. At TCU Place, we spend a lot of time thinking about what tomorrow can look like for our organization, our partners, and our city, and how we can build it together.

I recently had the chance to sit down and talk with Randy Pshebylo on his show, Connect, about what’s happening at TCU Place. As I watched the interview back, one thing really stood out to me: the past few years haven’t just been about recovery from the pandemic years. They’ve been about rebuilding with intention.

And it’s working.

2025 was the strongest year in TCU Place’s history. We hosted more events than ever before. Major conferences, high‑profile political gatherings, community celebrations, and a growing slate of theatre and live entertainment.

Our theatre business has tripled in just a few short years. Community events are thriving. National and international conferences are choosing Saskatoon, and choosing TCU Place as their gathering place.

But none of that happens by accident.

Hospitality is a demanding industry. Retention like ours, which is close to 90%, is almost unheard of. And yet, that’s where we’re at.

That didn’t come from luck. It came from investing in our people, creating a culture where learning matters, where professional growth is encouraged, and where coming to work feels purposeful.

When people enjoy where they work, clients feel it. When teams are engaged, service improves. When service improves, relationships deepen, and the business grows.

It’s a powerful cycle, and one we’re deeply committed to sustaining.

This work matters – to our team, to our clients, and to our city. What we’re seeing now is the result of thoughtful decisions, sustained effort, and a shared belief in what TCU Place can be.

We’re rebuilding with purpose, reimagining what’s possible, and moving forward together.  And I couldn’t be more proud of where we are, or more excited about where we’re headed.
