Nina Kressler Stepping Down, Tammy Sweeney Appointed Chair
TORONTO, May 23, 2025 – The Convention Centres of Canada (CCC) Board of Directors proudly announce a significant leadership transition as Nina Kressler, President and CEO of the Rogers Centre Ottawa and Chair of CCC, steps down from both roles. Tammy Sweeney, Chief Executive Officer of TCU Place – Saskatoon’s Arts & Convention Centre, will assume the role of Chair of CCC effective immediately.
Nina Kressler has been a dedicated and visionary leader in Canada’s convention and meetings industry for over a decade. Under her stewardship, the Rogers Centre Ottawa gained international acclaim and was named the “World’s Best Convention Centre” by the International Association of Convention Centres in 2020. As Chair of CCC, she has been instrumental in advancing collaboration and excellence across Canada’s network of leading convention venues.
“As I step away from my role, I do so with immense pride in what we’ve accomplished together,” said Nina Kressler. “It has been an honour to lead the Rogers Centre Ottawa and serve as Chair of CCC. I am deeply grateful for the colleagues, partners, and friends I’ve had the privilege to work with, and I’m confident that the future of Canada’s convention industry is bright with Tammy at the helm.”
Tammy Sweeney brings a wealth of experience and a passion for innovation and community building. A respected Canadian venue and event leader, she has championed initiatives that foster industry growth and inclusivity.

Rogers Centre Ottawa has also issued a follow-up announcement regarding the appointment of Lesley Pincombe as its new President and CEO. Ms. Pincombe brings more than two decades of experience in the business events sector and will lead the next chapter of growth and innovation at Rogers Centre Ottawa.
