SASKATOON, October 23, 2025 – TCU Place is pleased to share that they are partnering with #NotInMyCity to identify and put an end to sexual exploitation and sex trafficking here in Canada.

The commitment from TCU Place will include staff involvement in learning and training courses to identify the signs of human trafficking, and awareness campaigns throughout the organization.

“Some will think that human trafficking doesn’t happen in Saskatoon. We know that it can, and it does. And the challenge is that is often remains invisible. As a community hub, TCU Place is taking steps to make sure that our team is aware of the signs and ready to respond if needed to save lives,” comments TCU Place CEO, Tammy Sweeney.

Human trafficking is one of the fastest-growing crimes in Canada, and 93% of reported victims are Canadians being trafficked domestically. Often, these cases go unnoticed and unreported due to manipulation, fear, threats from traffickers, shame, language barriers, or mistrust of authority.

Members of the public are invited to learn more about the issue of human trafficking throughout Canada by taking a free e-learning course found at notinmycity.ca/learn. This free, 30-minute journey equips you with vital knowledge and concludes with a certificate of completion.
