TCU Place becomes Cameco Centre
on January 1, 2027

For nearly 60 years, our downtown Saskatoon venue has brought people together through business, arts, culture and unforgettable experiences. After 20 years with TCU Financial Group, we're excited to welcome Cameco as our new naming-rights partner, marking a new chapter for a place that continues to connect Saskatoon to the world.

For nearly 40 years, Cameco has been part of Saskatchewan's story too. With deep roots in Saskatoon and a long history of supporting the people, organizations and communities that make this province what it is. It's a partnership built on something both organizations have always believed in: the importance of bringing people together and investing in the place we call home.

On January 1, 2027, the place you know becomes Cameco Centre. Same stages. Same people. Same heart of downtown. Two familiar names coming together for everything that's still to come.

The Name

What is changing?

TCU Place and Cameco are announcing a new naming partnership for the venue. The building officially becomes Cameco Centre on January 1, 2027.

The Name

Why now?

The long-standing naming-rights agreement with TCU Financial Group is scheduled to conclude on December 31, 2026. The decision follows thoughtful and collaborative discussions and reflects a natural transition after 20 years of partnership. This transition also welcomes Cameco Corporation as the future naming-rights partner, who will play a pivotal role in the next chapter of the venue and the city. Like TCU Financial Group, Cameco is aligned with our values, invested in the community and ready to grow alongside Saskatoon.

The Name

Why Cameco?

Cameco is a natural fit. Proudly headquartered in Saskatoon, with deep Saskatchewan roots and a global presence, Cameco understands the importance of investing in the communities where we work and live. We're incredibly excited to welcome a partner that shares our commitment to bringing people together, celebrating our community and creating opportunities that extend far beyond our city. Together, we're looking forward to an exciting new chapter for Cameco Centre.

The Name

What is the length of the agreement?

Cameco has entered into a ten-year naming-rights partnership with the venue, beginning January 1, 2027. We're excited about the long-term commitment and the opportunities this partnership will bring to Cameco Centre and the Saskatoon community.

The Name

What is the value of the agreement?

The ten-year naming-rights partnership with Cameco represents an investment of approximately $3.85 million in Cameco Centre. This significant commitment reflects Cameco's confidence in the venue and its important role in bringing arts, entertainment, business and community experiences to Saskatoon.

Bigger Picture

What happens to TCU Financial Group?

TCU Financial Group remains a valued part of our community, and we look forward to welcoming them to the venue for years to come. We’re grateful for their contributions over the past two decades, and a new name doesn’t diminish that legacy.

Bigger Picture

Is the City of Saskatoon involved?

Yes. As with all large-scale changes to the organization, the City is engaged and supportive of a thoughtful, value-driven approach that protects the public interest and maximizes community benefit.

Bigger Picture

Is TCU Place experiencing financial challenges?

Quite the opposite. TCU Place is in a strong financial position, with solid revenues, disciplined cost management and positive momentum. In 2025, we generated a $500,000 surplus to start rebuilding reserves and approximately $44 million in economic impact, and supported hundreds of jobs in Saskatoon.

Bigger Picture

Will Cameco control performers, events or programming?

No. Cameco's partnership doesn't change how the venue operates, the events we host or the experiences people have come to love. It's business as usual, with an exciting new partner behind us. We're proud to welcome a globally recognized company with deep Saskatchewan roots that believes in the value of bringing people together. With Cameco's support, we'll continue to be a place for incredible performances, meaningful connections, business events and community experiences. HERE FOR IT ALL.

Bigger Picture

Why a nuclear energy/uranium company?

Cameco is one of the largest global providers of the uranium fuel needed for the generation of reliable, carbon-free nuclear power - all while headquartered in Saskatoon and with world-class mining operations in northern Saskatchewan. Nuclear energy generation is safe, cost-effective and sustainable, and the nuclear industry has an exemplary safety record in Canada.

Bigger Picture

Will existing tickets and contracts remain valid?

Yes. All previously purchased tickets, existing contracts and event bookings will remain valid, with no action required from ticket holders. The venue officially becomes Cameco Centre on January 1, 2027, but scheduled events and existing commitments will not be affected. Audiences, clients and event organizers can expect the same service and experiences they know today, now supported by an exciting new naming-rights partnership with Cameco. Updated venue information will be communicated through official channels to ensure a seamless transition.

Bigger Picture

What happens to the old name online?

The venue officially became Cameco Centre after January 1, 2027. Our website, ticketing platforms, online listings and digital channels will be updated to the new name, and the new website will be camecocentre.com. tcuplace.com and tcutickets.ca will redirect there automatically.

Bigger Picture

Is it tied to amalgamation with SaskTel Centre?

The naming-rights partnership is independent of the organizational and amalgamation work with SaskTel Centre. The agreement specifically concerns the naming rights of the existing venue and does not determine any future organizational decisions. Our focus is on a successful transition to Cameco Centre while maintaining continuity for our clients, audiences and community.

Bigger Picture

Is Cameco funding DEED?

No. Cameco's ten-year naming-rights partnership relates to the existing venue and is separate from the Downtown Event & Entertainment District. DEED is a City-led initiative with its own planning and funding processes. This partnership represents Cameco's commitment to supporting a venue that plays an important role in Saskatoon's business, arts and culture.

DEED: City of Saskatoon | Downtown Event & Entertainment District
Amalgamation with SaskTel Centre: City of Saskatoon

Bigger Picture

Does this approve or advance DEED?

The naming-rights partnership and DEED are separate initiatives with independent approval processes. This agreement does not approve, fund or accelerate DEED. Our focus is on welcoming Cameco as a new long-term partner and continuing to strengthen the experiences and opportunities offered at the existing venue.

Bigger Picture

What does the logo represent?

The Cameco Centre design provides a visual link to Cameco’s identity. We highlighted three themes we wanted the centre logo to express - Energy, Connection, Hub. The logo symbolizes energy and coming together, which represents the work of Cameco and the venue, respectively.

Bigger Picture

What is HERE FOR IT ALL, and when does it launch?

HERE FOR IT ALL is the new brand platform for Cameco Centre, celebrating the full range of experiences the venue brings to Saskatoon, from arts and entertainment to business, culture, community gatherings and milestone celebrations. The campaign will be introduced as part of the October 29 naming-rights announcement, with the full creative campaign and brand rollout launching in January 2027, alongside the official transition to Cameco Centre. This will include the new visual identity and creative that brings HERE FOR IT ALL to life across the venue's communications and brand touchpoints.

Also on the horizon

Understanding the
Different Projects.

There’s a lot happening with Saskatoon’s event and entertainment spaces, and we know it can be tricky to keep track of what’s connected. We want to help make things a little clearer.

The Cameco Centre naming-rights partnership is separate from both the amalgamation with SaskTel Centre and the Downtown Event & Entertainment District (DEED). Each is its own initiative, with its own purpose and planning process.

City of Saskatoon Project

Merger with
SaskTel Centre

City Council is establishing a new corporation that will bring SaskTel Centre and TCU Place together under one organization.

The new corporation will oversee the management and operation of both facilities, two important venues that currently support Saskatoon’s community life, visitor economy and local businesses.

City of Saskatoon Project

Downtown Event & Entertainment District

The Downtown Event & Entertainment District is a long-term City-led initiative exploring the future of Saskatoon's downtown event infrastructure, including a proposed new arena and convention centre, alongside broader opportunities for downtown development and connectivity. The vision is to create a vibrant, accessible downtown destination that supports arts, entertainment, business events and community activity.
